Dr. Rajagopal is Professor of Marketing at EGADE Business School of Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education (ITESM), Mexico City Campus and Life Fellow of the Royal Society for Encouragement of Arts, Manufacture and Commerce, London. He is Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute, and Fellow of Institute of Operations Management, United Kingdom. Dr. Rajagopal is also Visiting Professor at Boston University, Boston, Massachusetts.
He has been listed with biography in various international directories. He offers courses on Competitor Analysis, Marketing Strategy, Advance Selling Systems, International Marketing, Services Marketing, New Product Development, and other subjects of contemporary interest to the students of undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs. He has imparted training to senior executives and has conducted 60 management development programs.
He specializes in the fields of Marketing Management, Innovation Management, Consumer Behavior, Competition Analysis, and Development Economics. He has to his credit 50 books on marketing and management and over 400 research contributions that include published research papers in national and international refereed journals.
He is Editor-in-Chief of International Journal of Leisure and Tourism Marketing, Editor-in-Chief of International Journal of Business Competition and Growth, and Editor-in-Chief of International Journal of Built Environment and Asset Management. Dr. Rajagopal is Regional Editor of Emerald Emerging Markets Case Studies, published by Emerald Publishers, United Kingdom. He is on the editorial board of various journals of international repute.
His research contributions have been recognized by the National Council of Science and Technology (CONACyT), Government of Mexico by awarding him the status of National Researcher-SNI level-II during 2004-12. Currently Dr. Rajagopal holds the honor of the highest level of National Researcher-SNI Level- III.

Dr. Rajagopal has been appointed as a Member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Retail and Leisure Property (ISSN 1479-1110), published by Palgrave Macmillan, UK since December 2007. Also he serves as Member of the Editorial Advisory Board of the journal Innovative Marketing, published by Business Perspectives, Ukraine and Journal of Marketing Analytics, published by Palgrave Macmillan, UK. He is also a Member of the Scientific Council of the Journal of Tourism, published under the aegis of University of Suceava, Romania.
Dr. Rajagopal holds the Masters and Doctoral Degrees in Economics with interdisciplinary specialization in Agribusiness and Marketing Management from Ravishankar University in India. He has specialization in Brand Management, Selling Systems, Services Marketing, International Marketing, Rural Economic Linkages and Development Economics; He has worked with National Institute of Rural Development, Institute of Rural Management,National Institute of Agricultural Management and Administrative Staff College of India in senior academic positions. His papers have been published in many international refereed journals and books include Marketing : Strategy, Implementation and Control, Organizing Rural Business, Marketing Management : Text and Cases in Indian Context, Marketing Dynamics: Theory and Practice, Brand Management-Strategy, Measurement and Yield Analysis, Dynamics of International Trade and Economy and Globalization Thrust: Driving Nations Competitive, which are popular among the students and practitioners. Dr. Rajagopal has also authored many corporate cases for effective class room discussion in reference to Indian and Latin American companies.
Dr.Rajagopal received a National Merit Scholarship during his post-graduation and was a Fellow of the Indian Council of Social Science Research , during his Doctoral Programme. He has received the Recognition of Level 2 of the National System of Researchers (Sistema Nacional de Investgadors-SNI), Government of Mexico for his academic and research contributions.There are four levels of recognitions instituted by SNI, Government of Mexico, that include Research Candidate, Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 in the ascending order of academic excellence since January 2004.
He has completed 50 research and consultancy projects in the areas of marketing, empowerment, gender studies, rural development, corporate strategy, virtual business strategies and competitor analysis. These projects were carried out in India, Mexico and Latin American countries. He has contributed to countrywide class room participation through as many as seven films on marketing for the University Grants Commission of India. He has been imparting training to the senior and middle level executives of the corporate sector, government and international executives on general management and specific marketing management programs.
He conducted 60 Management Development Programs at various institutes at national and international destinations through December 2008. He worked on various agricultural and rural development research studies in association with national and international organizations. His areas of interests include marketing management, rural-urban linkages and development management. He is a consultant to many Indian and International business research organizations.
He also worked with the Development Administrative Group of the School of Public Policy, University of Birmingham on rural urban linkages. He is a consultant to many international organizations including Oxford Policy Management, Scottish Development Overseas and others. He had also served as a nominated member of the working group on Command Area Irrigation of the Tenth Five Year Plan constituted by the Planning Commission of the Government of India during 2000-2001.
